Supporting Grass Roots Music ~ Funded by The Arts Council
Niburu Live is our passion for live music coming to life, with up close and personal performances of upcoming emerging musicians and performers.
The project began as a creative collaboration between Wilfred Webster (Content Creator / TV Personality); Colin Francis (Niburu Recordings / Musician) and
Kwadjo Amponsem (Musician / Teacher), born from a mutual desire to support and promote upcoming, grassroots artists, providing a free platform to showcase their work.
The show’s original format introduced the artist via an ‘audition’ filmed on the studio’s ‘Ring Doorbell’. Three to Four live performances are then recorded, followed by an interview with Wilfred.
We are now delighted to be funded by The Arts Council England, bringing a great breath of develop to the original project, and providing the needed resources to raise the profile and potentials for grassroots artists in the Enfield area.

Amplifying Local Talent ~ Building Skills ~ Connecting Communities
Niburu London is launching a year-long live music performance project from our community studio, designed to give emerging artists a professional platform while creating opportunities for local people to learn, connect, and celebrate music together.
Over 12 months, we will host 12 professionally filmed live sessions featuring diverse, grassroots musicians from Enfield and neighbouring boroughs. Each performance will be recorded at broadcast quality, providing artists—particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds—with industry-standard footage to grow their portfolios, reach new audiences, and progress their careers.
Alongside the performances, young people and volunteers will receive hands-on training in sound engineering, filming, editing, and production management. By developing these transferable creative skills, participants will gain valuable experience while strengthening the local music ecosystem.
The project will culminate in a community celebration event, showcasing highlights from the live sessions and sparking conversations between artists, technicians, and audiences.
Mentorship & Artistic Development
At the heart of this project is a commitment to nurture talent, whilst providing a later opportunity to showcase. Alongside professionally filmed performances, emerging artists will benefit from one-to-one and group mentorship with experienced producers, musicians, and industry professionals.
Mentors will provide practical, tailored guidance to help artists:
Refine stagecraft — developing confidence, presence, and audience connection.
Polish arrangements — enhancing song writing, composition, and live delivery.
Navigate the industry — understanding how to build a portfolio, promote work, and access opportunities.
This structured support ensures that each participant doesn’t just leave with high-quality recordings, but with the skills and knowledge to progress their careers beyond the project.
Mentorship will also encourage cross-pollination between genres, fostering creativity and collaboration among performers from diverse musical backgrounds. By bridging grassroots creativity with professional insight, the project creates a talent pipeline that supports artists at a critical stage in their journey.
Mentorship for Young Creatives
Just as artists will be supported in refining their craft, young people and volunteers involved in the technical side of the project will also receive structured mentorship. Working alongside professional sound engineers, camera operators, and producers, participants will gain
hands-on training and personalised guidance in:
Sound engineering — setting up, mixing, and managing live audio.
Camera operation — capturing dynamic performances with professional equipment.
Video editing & post-production — creating polished content ready for broadcast.
Production management — understanding the logistics of running live and filmed events.
Mentors will provide real-world insight, helping participants develop both technical skills and the confidence to apply them in creative industries. With this support, young technicians won’t just learn how to “push the buttons,” but how to think creatively, solve problems under pressure, and collaborate as part of a professional team.
This approach ensures that participants leave with transferable skills, practical experience, and valuable industry connections, strengthening the local talent pool and inspiring future career pathways.
Why This Project Matters
Many talented musicians face barriers to accessing professional recording and performance opportunities. At the same time, our community continues to feel the effects of the pandemic, with fewer grassroots venues and fewer opportunities for young people to gain meaningful skills and confidence.
