New Projects This Autumn!

The Royal Small Arms Trust
We are delighted to announce the commencement of a new Heritage Project, funded by The Royal Small Arms Trust.
Established in 2004, the RSA Trust makes grants to charities within Enfield and the wider community from the profits generated by RSA Island Village Ltd operating the RSA Island Centre.
Plans are currently being established, with first session anticipated in early 2026. We look forward to sharing more information as the project progresses.

Launching Together at the Table
Funded by the National Lottery Community Fund!

Our Summer Newsletter introduced Together at the Table, a pilot project held in partnership with The Nightingales Cancer Support Centre and funded by the National Lottery’s Community Fund.
Inspired by Niburu London Trustee, Norman Allen’s own cancer journey, the project aims to create a welcoming space where those affected by cancer can come together to prepare nutritious meals, exchange stories, support and smiles!
The project launched its first pilot sessions in September 2025.
Shared Planning
Together at the Table planning sessions began in April 2025 following preliminary meeting between Norman Allen (Niburu London) and Nightingale Heads, Nick Jacobs (CEO) and Fiona Connell (Head of Services).
Nightingale’s regular Coffee Mornings provided the perfect opportunity for Norman to meet members and gauge interest in the project. From the outset, response was very positive, with approximately 20 – 25 individuals interested in the project at the first meeting.
Nightingale members ideas and suggestion have proved intrinsic to the project’s planning. As the preparatory weeks unfolded, it became clear that, although the formal ‘Together at the Table’ sessions were yet to commence, the sharing, connection and communications between formed during these weeks suggested the project’s aim had been realised from the outset.
Throughout the planning process Norman has worked closely with Lucy McGinn, Nightingales Marketing and Communications Officer. Lucy’s advice and support has been invaluable, providing seamless communication between all parties.

Trustees Together
As the final format developed, Norman undertook a ‘Trial Run’ with Niburu London Trustees and valued friends. Following an enthusiastic Teams meeting to choose menu and task allocation, the session was held at Enfield Baptist Church.
The afternoon held a hive of chatter and activity. Most importantly, everyone felt they had shared an enjoyable afternoon, with delicious food a good company!
Below are some photographs and excellent suggestions from our Trustees.

Session Spotlight

Youth Music – R.O.C.K.
(Raising Our Communities Kids)
Funded by the Youth Music’s Trail Blazer Fund and in partnership with Exodus Youth Worx UK and Northside Youth Community Connections (NYCC), the R.O.C.K. project offers budding young musicians a opportunity to take part in a 12 week works shop where they will learn to play music on the instrument of their choice, play in an ensemble and experience music recording and production. The sessions culminate in a live performance and recording at the Niburu London music studio.
The weekly sessions are held a NYCC’s community centre in Edmonton Green. Established in 2008 in response to the escalating gang violence in the community, NYCC support young people, parents and the wider community through the delivery of bespoke programmes, workshops, mentoring and outreach programmes. We are very fortunate to have the opportunity to call this impressive community centre home to the R.O.C.K .
A Musical Journey
The first group of R.O.C.K’s young musicians and singers completed their 12 week sessions in September. With smaller numbers attending over the summer holidays, one to one lessons were held, allowing focus on individual skills and techniques.
These sessions proved extremely popular, offering a welcomed focus for young people to extend their musical skills and a secure where they can continue to learn how to play an instrument
When showtime approached a collective decision was made to undertake a studio rehearsal in advance of the final performance. This allowed the young musicians to experience the recording process and familiarise themselves in a new environment without the pressure of recording their final performance.
The studio rehearsal was appreciated by everyone, and will now be incorporated to the programme going forwards.
The final show proved a wonderful experience for everyone! With experience gained after the studio rehearsal, the group exhibited great confidence and focus throughout the session.
The enthusiasm and commitment from R.O.C.K’s first group of young singers and musicians has been overwhelming. Their development is such a short period of time is a testimony to their hard work and keen focus both during the weekly sessions and further practice in their own time at home.
The journey each of these young musicians have made is a testimony to their commitment to themselves, the group and the project. We are so proud of all they have achieved and look forward to working with them again in later projects.
Future Music
Niburu is actively developing partnerships with, Exodus Youth Worx, Northside Youth Community Connexions (NYCC), and North London Music Centre (Enfield) to establish a dedicated Creative Music Hub in our borough.
The hub will provide ongoing one-to-one tuition (free for families unable to afford it), expand open-access group music workshops, and create progression routes into accredited training and employment. By embedding our music programme within this wider network of community and professional partners, we will sustain delivery, secure additional funding, and ensure that young people continue to benefit long after this grant ends.
