Welcome to R.O.C.K. 2026!
Setting the Scene for a Musical Year Ahead
The first R.O.C.K. sessions were a huge success, thanks to the dedication of the amazing group of young people, our funders ~Youth Music, and community partners Exodus Youth Worx UK and NYCC.
The initial journey provided the opportunity to more fully understand the challenges and needs of the young people, musically, socially and emotionally. Their willingness to engage in the project’s development has created firm foundations on which to build.
We now have the greatest pleasure in bringing a new and extended R.O.C.K. Project for 2026!
We are delighted to announce the receipt of additional support from the National Lottery’s Million Hours Fund.
The Million Hours Fund is funded by Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and The National Lottery Community Fund, providing additional resources to existing projects, allowing organisation to bring extra support to young people.

The National Lottery Million Hours Community Fund has allowed Niburu to create the Million Miles & Smiles Project, supporting expansion to the R.O.C.K!
From the original weekly 1 ½ hour sessions, we are now holding 3 x two hour sessions.
In addition, we have recruited a professional musician and qualified music teacher, who will provide technical expertise, widen young people’s horizons about music careers, and inspire participants with lived examples of sustainable pathways in the creative industries.

Exodus & NYCC ~ Edmonton

We are delighted to welcome back some members of the original group. It is a pleasure to see their growth not only musically, but for some, developing from a place of non engagement to actively supporting new group members.
Most newcomers have no previous musical experience, and it is exciting to see how swiftly talents can emerge within a nurturing environment. Peer mentorship and intergenerational support is developing organically, and we are thrilled to be connected with two new volunteers to the project. Further news will be shared as the project unfolds!
Sessions arranged by Exodus Youth Worx UK and held at NYCC take place on Tuesdays.

A New Collaboration
In partnership with the Ponders End Youth Centre, twice weekly sessions take place on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Ponders End Youth Centre work closely with Oasis Hanley Academy, and we are very fortunate to introduce Awadh. An Extra Curricular Teacher from the Academy and dynamic Beatmaker/Rapper, Awadh brings great creative input to the project.
A further addition to the teaching support will be 17 year old drummer Marco. After visiting the NYCC sessions in 2025, we are delighted to welcome him as a peer mentor at the Ponders End Youth Centre.
We are blessed to have the benefit of 3 music rooms, which will allow individual support for both beginners and advanced groups.
