Step into Spring!

A magical time of year, with the light slowly returning, weather warming and flowers beginning to bloom, spring can evoke feelings of fresh, new beginnings!
In the home, this might include spring cleaning! Bringing the budding freshness into our living environment by deep cleaning areas which have hidden during the darker winter months. Adorning rooms with spring flowers or uplifting, fragrant candles, can lift spirits and acknowledge the raising of natures energy.
Spring is a great time of year to bring fresh energy to our bodies too after the long quiet of winter. Here are a few ideas too put a spring in your step!

Enjoy Time in Nature
The emergence of longer, brighter days, provides an opportunity to step outside and reconnect with the natural world. Research shows that spending time in nature can greatly assist our mental and physical wellbeing. Nature offers an abundance of opportunities for us to make that connection, from something as simple as tending indoor plants, listening to birds sing outside the window, a stroll in the local park to exploring coastlines, woodlands or waterways. Step outside this spring and enjoy the magic!

Food for Thought
With lighter, brighter days, the inclusion of in season vegetables can bring a boost to the diet, providing an opportunity to connect with the natural cycle. When eating seasonally, we ensure our bodies gain the nutrients particularly required for the time of year. In spring, this could be beetroot, carrots, spring greens, purple sprouting broccoli, radishes, spinach and many more. Herbs and herbal teas are a great addition to the springtime routine, bringing a light freshness to sooth away the cobwebs and dispel the winter blues!

Just Relax!
Taking time out for relaxation is an important part of self care, helping to reduce stress and improve wellbeing. Relaxation can be found in many forms and is a completely personal experience. Listening to music, mindfulness mediation, yoga, tai chi, reading a book, a relaxing bath, gentle walk or a fishing trip are all examples of taking time out to wind down. Even 5 minutes with a quiet cuppa, staying consciously in the moment without drifting thoughts, can be beneficial. How will you spend your quiet time?

Movement Matters
Regular exercise is a great way to top up energy levels and bring many benefits to your health and wellbeing. The key is to find an activity you enjoy and make it part of a regular routine. This could be taking up a membership to the gym or enrolling in a yoga class, but a regular walk, gardening, taking a bike ride or dancing at home can be equally beneficial. It may help to try different activities to keep keen. For those wanting a home based workout, try Niburu’s Seated Exercise Sessions. What will you choose?
