New Projects This Summer!
Living, Sharing, Music and More!
The Lived Experience Programme
We are delighted to announce the commencement of Niburu London’s ‘Lived Experience Programme‘. Niburu London has always sought to harness the experience and celebrate life journey’s of its core members. From workshop delivery to planning, creative design to administration, Niburu London draws upon their expertise.
Our new series of projects engages more deeply with this ethos, actively creating a dynamic project structure seeded deeply in the experience and attributes of the Niburu team. The programme supports the opportunity for the teams personal growth and development, which in turn creates new experiences for our local community.
Niburu’s Together at the Table and R.O.C.K projects celebrate the lived experience of key members Norman Allen (Together at the Table), and Louis Carlet (R.O.C.K). More information on these inspiring individuals is shared below in the newsletter.
Introducing Together at the Table
Funded by the National Lottery Community Fund!

In partnership with The Nightingales Cancer Support Centre and funded by the National Lottery’s Community Fund, Niburu London’s
Together at the Table sessions create a welcoming space where those affected by cancer can come together to prepare nutritious meals, exchange stories, support and smiles!
The project is now in its final stages of development with the first sessions planned to commence in September 2025.
Shared Experience
As part of the Lived Experience Programme, the Together at the Table Project is the inspiration of Niburu London Trustee, Norman Allen. Following his own cancer journey, Norman has been passionate to support those undergoing similar experiences.
The design, planning, delivery and expansion of the project will be managed and run by Norman, with the support of the Niburu team and Nightingales management and members.
Here, Norman shares his inspiration and hopes for the project.
A Personal Journey
“The Together at the Table project stems from a personal desire which has found actualisation in this pilot project. Ever since going through my own personal cancer journeys to the point of remission, I have had this desire to setup a support activity, to help those going through their own journey, at whatever point they may be.
I’ve always envisaged this idea being an inclusive gathering, where participants, cook, chat, discuss and commune together to support each other in an informal setting. In the past, I’ve attended Cancer Support groups and have benefited greatly from being part of such a support group subsequently inspiring my passion, for a project such as this“.

A Partnership in Kind
Preliminary research into project feasibility lead Norman to visit The Nightingale Cancer Support Centre in Enfield.
Norman reports that “the initial proposal from Nightingale’s CEO Nick Jacobs and myself to all Niburu Trustees was greeted with enthusiasm and after explanation I was buoyed by the trust and confidence bestowed“.
Norman goes on to comment “that the Together at the Table Pilot Project has been enriching to be involved with. Collaborating with Nightingale Cancer Support is enlightening and is an ongoing productive experience. The interest in this project has been very encouraging from those invested and from those who have been made aware Nightingale users have continued to convey an ever increasing desire for the project. The potential users are welcoming, engaging, questioning and contribute with their own suggestions for inclusion in the development of Together at the Table. Visiting Nightingale will indeed be an ongoing process at least until the completion of the Together at the Table pilot project. Each visit, the purpose for updating, acquiring information and planning with each individual agreed sub-group“.

Highlights on the latest news of our current sessions and projects

Youth Music – R.O.C.K.
(Raising Our Communities Kids)
Funded by the Youth Music’s Trail Blazer Fund and in partnership with Exodus Youth Worx UK and Northside Youth Community Connections (NYCC), the R.O.C.K. project offering budding young musicians a opportunity to take part in a 12 week works shop where they will learn to play music on the instrument of their choice, play in an ensemble and experience music recording and production. The sessions culminate in a live performance and recording at the Niburu London music studio.
The weekly sessions are held a NYCC’s community centre in Edmonton Green. Established in 2008 in response to the escalating gang violence in the community, NYCC support young people, parents and the wider community through the delivery of bespoke programmes, workshops, mentoring and outreach programmes. We are very fortunate to have the opportunity to call this impressive community centre home to the R.O.C.K .
The sessions are held in collaboration with Exodus Youth Worx, an inspiring organisation dedicated to “Encourage, Empower and Enable young people to be the best version of themselves”. Working closely with Exodus Director Tara Hanna, whose support has been incredible and a real joy to work with, we also have to thank all the staff at NYCC for looking after us and especially Chris providing us with the space to work with the young people. We are hoping this is beginning of long working relationship as we are seeking funding to develop a music hub that supports the musical needs of the local area.
Music as Lived Experience
Louis Carlet is a local resident who has a very serious passion for music. A multi -instrumental song writer, who can write in a variety of genres has been writing songs for over 30 years. Niburu are pleased to be able to support his idea of giving back to the community by providing him with the framework to teach young people to play instruments and performance live music.

A little peek at what’s ahead!
Open Door Community Fund and Summer Uni!

Funded by Enfield Council, the Open Door Community Fund offers a further opportunity to provide musical session for young people over the summer holidays. The sessions will be held in collaboration with the Youth Music Project, enabling an extension to the activities provided.
Summer Uni 2025 offers will offer two sets of 3 day workshops, designed to develop filming skills for groups of 8 young people.
The first sessions took place at Craig Park Sports Hall in Edmonton on 23rd – 25th July. Participant chose as a group to make film, writing the screenplay, acting, filming and directing. The small group size provided the opportunity for tutors to engage in one to one support, enhancing individual development over the 3 day course.
The second group of sessions will take place at Alan Pullinger Centre, Southgate on 30th July to 1st August.
We look forward to bring you a further update soon!
